What is the Horace Mann Fun Run? 

The Horace Mann Fun Run is a 10 day program and the year’s biggest fundraiser!  The field will be transformed into a racetrack for students to run, dance and skip to fun music and cheering for about 30 minutes with a lot of fanfare.  Families are asked to get pledges for the minutes their student completes at the Horace Mann Fun Run. Funds raised from this event go toward enrichment programs, field trips, school improvements, and strengthening our school community! Our goal is to raise at least $20,000. 

How can families register their student(s)? 

First, families log in or sign up on MYBOOSTER.COM. Then, families can register their student as a participant on MYBOOSTER.COM by searching for the school by name. When 90% of a class registers, they will get extra recess!! So FUN!! 

How can students get donations? 

Families can help connect students to sponsors by sharing their fundraising link on Facebook, through email, or even a text. Sponsors can enter and pay for those donations online through students' fundraising links!  There are two types of Fun Run donations: per-minute pledges and flat donations. Per-minute pledges (like $10/min) are multiplied by about 30–35 minutes on event day and collected afterward. Flat donations are one-time gifts collected right away. Classroom totals include all students’ donations — both per-minute and flat.

Will my student really complete 30 minutes? How big is the track? 

Yes, even kindergarteners! The Outdoor Fun Run track is about 1/16th of a mile, 1/4 the size of a normal high school track. The average student will complete 30-35 minutes and will have a goal to complete at least 30 minutes to help their school.  It's not all running, students are encouraged to dance, skip, jump, walk and be silly throughout the event.

Can students receive a prize for flat donations? 

Yes! All flat donations count toward donations and are rounded by 30 (the average student will complete over 30 minutes. So, a $30 donation is the same as $1 per minute. A $60 donation is the same as $2 per minute, etc.  Prizes are awarded at a classroom level with lots of fun incentives along the way.  

How do sponsors pay? 

Sponsors will be prompted to pay online for all donations, even per minute donations. Sponsors will receive an email after the Horace Mann Fun Run with the amount of their payment based on how many minutes were completed. 

When is donation money due? 

Donation money is due within ONE WEEK after the event. 

Can I write a check? 

For donations not made on MYBOOSTER.COM, you can still turn in cash or check. Please make checks out to: Horace Mann PTO.

Can caregivers participate?

Yes!  Caregivers are encouraged to cheer on their students.  It's a fun day for all. Schedule will be released soon.
